ORLANDO -- Jose Amaro, 45, was Tasered after deputies said he resisted arrest when they tried to stop him from walking into traffic at Landstreet Road and Orange Blossom Trail.
Witnesses said he was foaming at the mouth and waving around a squeegee.

Officers Tasered Amaro three times before they were able to get him into custody. He died a short time later after being taken to the hospital.

"We have to do what we have to do as a law enforcement agency. We will look into this incident and make sure that everything we did was appropriate," said Jim Solomons from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

"Take him down, put the cuffs on him, and put him in the car. Why can't they go back to that? They're going to this Taser thing, being lazy," said Feliz Amaro, the victim’s brother.

Family members said Amaro was drinking and doing cocaine earlier that evening. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning. Feliz Amaro said his brother was schizophrenic.
